AcroYoga blends the ancient wisdom of yoga, the dynamic power of acrobatics and the tenderness of Thai massage into a partner practice centred around trust, connection and HAVING FUN.
The practice generally centres around three people – a base, a flyer and a spotter for support. The base acts as a solid foundation, lying on their back, supporting the flyer’s weight with extended arms and legs. The flyer is then lifted off the ground by the base, moving through a series of aerial yoga positions cultivating balance, strength, trust and communication.
You don’t need to be a master gymnast or even a seasoned yogi. Refining the art of giving and receiving support is the substance of the practice. Learning to share your weight with a partner is incredibly empowering. Bursting the often solitary bubble of your yoga mat results is an overwhelming feeling of triumph, community and JOY.
