The 'mandala' is a symbol in Buddhist, Hindu and Tantric philosophy that represents wholeness: a cosmic diagram organised around a unifying centre, the bindu, the seed vibration of creation.
The design is therefore a reminder of our relation to infinity, to the ever-unfolding process of microcosm to macrocosm - to understanding the flow of nature inside.
Over the recent years these designs have been pouring out of my hands intuitively - carved on bowls, adorned on bodies, assembled in nature and now painted large-scale on the walls of yoga studios and other treasured spaces.
As you can see in the video below, there is no stencil, no ruler... the compositions are always spontaneous and free-flowing. By fully submerging myself in the creative process I get out of my own way and allow the movement of energy to pass through me.
