In the ancient Hindu language of sanskrit, Yoga translates as 'union'.
Union between body, mind and spirit.
Union between physical, emotional and energetic bodies.
Union between the Basic Self (subconscious), the Conscious Self (ego) and the Higher Self (spirit).

Lara has been exploring these concepts as student and teacher for over 12 years. In her own practice, the process of moving through shapes in space, whilst focusing attention on breath and sensation, has been a profound tool for healing and cultivating peace in both body and mind.

 

Prana Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Prana = life force
Vinyasa = evolution, wave or cycle
Flow = the state of unified consciousness

Lara has become known for her fluid and dynamic teaching style, coaxing students to get out of their head and drop into their feeling, intuitive body. The effect of this is a profound breath-per-movement meditation of 'flow state', inspired by the teaching of her primary mentor, Prana Vinyasa trailblazer Shiva Rea.

Each class with Lara is a revitalising journey of moving prayer, learning to feel prana, the elixir of life, initiating movements from the inside out, waking up the map of the energetic body with every conscious breath and meaningful movement.

What results is a powerful rhythmic experience, dissolving stress in the body and tension in the mind, liberating one's creative life force and cultivating embodied freedom (view clip below).
